Even the roots are red.

Springtime is the time of traveling seedlings. Into the greenhouse for the day. Back into the house for the night. This year we're going to install a heat source and ceiling fans to try to keep it a nursery day and night.

Basil abundance.

Even the roots are red.

I am a multi media artist, painter/contractor, mother and market gardener residing at Madeline Lake, just outside Yellowknife. Since moving to the Northwest Territories I've been trying to figure out how to live a low cost and small footprint kind of life. Sustainability, connectedness, community and small scale economy are some of the key focusses in my life and work and make me want to create a niche that's affordable, inspiring and achievable for my role as a mother, an artist, a food producer and a practical idealist.

The inspiration, logic and ability to focus on my creative work is closely linked to the physical and sensual realities of living in the north.
My artwork include public murals, drawings and jewelry made from a variety of local materials.

With my background as a contractor/painter and many years of working with natural pigments and creative wall finishes in both private residences and businesses I am happy to offer and explore the interest in these techniques in Yellowknife, my new home.
